Luljetta’s Hanging Gardens and Spa is a secret getaway in Antipolo, Philippines. It is one of the most scenic and relaxing places I’d been to in the country, and what’s more fascinating is that it’s only an hour away from the hustle and bustle of the capital city of Manila.
The whole facility takes inspiration from the old Babylonian structures. First, it is strategically located on a mountainside with amazing views of green landscapes and Laguna de bay and, further to the right, the vast skyline of Manila. It is complete with amenities for pampering, including a hydro-massage pool, infinity pools, fish spas, a bubbling jacuzzi and sauna rooms.
The staff also offers massage and whole-body scrubs of different kinds, including a luxurious chocolate or lemon scrub followed by a banana leaf body wrap for additional healing benefits.
Luljetta’s Hanging Gardens and Spa is surrounded by lush greenery and Zen-like gardens. Wandering through the walkways, you can see so many details: water basins and small fountains filled with flowers, small Buddha statues, and signs written with positive affirmations for self-love and relationships.
It can be a bit tiring to get up and down the flights of stairs to reach its many areas, but thankfully there are also several lounges replete with lemon-cucumber water for refreshment. The lounges themselves are interesting – there are ethnic-decorated beds and couches, sungka and musical instruments for enjoyment and a room allocated for watching movies if you so desire.
To complete the experience, Luljetta’s has its own cafe with the same amazing mountain views. You can take a snack of Antipolo’s best suman and lemongrass tea or have a well-prepared three-course meal.
Overall, I find Luljetta’s Hanging Gardens and Spa a relaxing experience, perfect for unwinding or simply getting disconnected from the outside world. It’s also a great option for anniversaries or other romantic dates, even a treat for someone special other than your partner.
