My trip to Corfu was very last minute, and as is the case with most of my trips, I booked the accommodation a couple of days before I was due to leave. It was cheap and in a good location of Paleokastritsa which came highly recommended. To say I was surprised upon arrival would be an understatement.
Elysium Apartments is an absolutely stunning apartment block on the Cliffside of Paleokastritsa (as is most of the town) There is a very steep driveway followed by about 80 steps to reach the garden, but when you do it will blow you away. As you step into the garden you will see the apartment block to your right and a breath-taking view of the ocean on your left. Made up of 3 studio flats and one luxury suite, you have the option for simple or to splurge a little bit. The studio goes for about £37 a night where the luxury suite is about £95 a night.
But back to the garden! Set up with sun loungers and tables, it was the perfect place to lie out with a snack and a good book. Paleokastritsa itself is quite small so we spent quite a lot of time on the loungers, just admiring the stunning view. Watching the sky change colors with the setting sun. It was heavenly.
If I ever go back to Corfu, I would without a doubt stay at Elysium again. Maybe even splurge a bit for a luxury suite! I had no expectations of Corfu and honestly thought we were going to get pretty basic accommodation due to the lateness of booking and the cheap price. I couldn’t have been more wrong. And what a pleasant surprise that was.
